Feb 14, 2008 Hi there, Got the above Sony Walkman yesterday and spent a long period last night and this morning trying to sort out getting files on. It seems that I. I know that this might be a tired topic, but I just recently purchased two 8gb mp3 players, both being the Sony NWZ-A818 player; silver for myself and black for my wife.
Hello I am using a Sony A818 with a Apple Mac G4. It took some time getting the artwork to appear on the walkman so thought I'd post how I did it here. You need to make sure that all you music files are mp3 format (not sony formatted oma or m4a). If you need to convert m4a tracks to mp3 in itunes this can be done by firstly selecting the files you want to convert and using >control >click and select >convert files to mp3.

Itunes quite annoyingly keeps their album artwork on a remote database and if you copy the music folder directly to your walkman the album artwork won't show up. You need the album artwork files to be saved locally in the album music folder as.jpg and to add the album artwork as a ID3 tag. This can be done in itunes 7.0. To do this follow the instructions on this link: How To Add iTunes Artwork To MP3 ID3 Tags Using iTunes: Once this is done drag and drop the content of your itunes music folder into the walkman's music folder.

Hope this helps. Click to expand. Egalax touchscreen drivers windows 7. I don't think this is quite correct (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). The Sony does support m4a (Apple's AAC) and will display the artwork of AAC files. I assume that the artwork is somehow embedded in each file (like with mp3) because you do not need to keep a separate jpg. I really don't understand the comment about the 'remote database' either? That said, for some unknown reason, my Sony simply will not display the artwork for some of my albums, no matter what I do to them.
